Cooks Source apologizes, says it's made a donation to Columbia journalism school

Cooks Source says on its website that "we sincerely wish to apologize" to Monica Gaudio for publishing her article without permission. "We have made a donation at her request, to her chosen institution, the Columbia School of Journalism. In addition, a donation to the Western New England Food Bank, is being made in her name." || The Economist: "For apparent arrogance, alleged copyright theft, and possible ignorance of copyright law, should [the publisher] lose her livelihood?"

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his MediaGossip.com, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
