Creative Loafing Atlanta's Shalhoup named Chicago Reader editor

Mara Shalhoup joined Creative Loafing in 2000 after working at the Macon Telegraph. She was promoted from senior editor to editor-in-chief last January. At the Chicago Reader -- another Creative Loafing-owned weekly -- Shalhoup pledges to hold "sacred the longtime mission of the paper, which as I see it is telling the stories no one else tells." || More from Creative Loafing Atlanta.

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
