Davies: Newspaper industry woes were a factor in my leaving Philly Daily News

Dave Davies, who is leaving the Daily News to work fulltime at WHYY, is asked if his departure is a vote of no-confidence in the future of newspapers. "The uncertainty around the future of newspapers, and the [Daily News and Inquirer] in particular, were a factor without doubt," he says. "We are in bankruptcy reorganization, and that's probably going to resolve itself in the next six months. I think there's some chance that we'll be in for harder times than we’re in now." || Another Philly departure: Inquirer online editor Chris Krewson heads to Variety.com.
