Ex-WPer Bennett named 'Frontline' managing editor

Former Washington Post managing editor Phil Bennett calls "Frontline" on PBS a "gem-like structure in American journalism" that's now "pushing beyond their core medium." Bennett is moving to Boston for the job, but will commute to Duke to teach a couple of days each week during the academic year, reports Michael Calderone.

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his MediaGossip.com, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
