Cristina Alesci reports the FBI kept tabs on David Halberstam‘s reporting, tracked his marriage to a Polish actress and prepared background reports on him for other federal agencies. She discovered the feds paid particular attention to Halberstam in the mid-1960s when he was a New York Times correspondent in Poland during the Cold War.
