Former Star-Ledger Statehouse reporter McNichol dies at 54

Dusty McNichol covered the New Jersey Statehouse for 10 years and was part of the Star-Ledger team that won a Pulitzer for coverage of former Gov. Jim McGreevey. "He could read through thousands of documents and find the one nugget that would turn into a big story," says Star-Ledger Trenton bureau chief Tom Martello. McNichol joined Bloomberg News in 2009.

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his MediaGossip.com, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
