Guardian's Bell named director of Columbia's Tow Center for Digital Journalism

Emily Bell starts in late July and will also join the full-time faculty at Columbia's journalism school. The Tow Center for Digital Journalism was established earlier this year to educate journalists with the skills and knowledge to lead the future of digital journalism and to serve as a research and development center for the profession. ||More from Wired.com.

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his MediaGossip.com, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
