“Guy Fieri” appeared in a dress rehearsal for “Saturday Night Live”‘s “Weekend Update” to respond to Pete Wells’ review of his Times Square restaurant.

“The New York Times reviewing my restaurant is like Architectural Digest reviewing a college dorm,” the fake Fieri said.

The real Guy Fieri response, on the “Today” show, was this: “To me it’s impossible to come in and have a dining experience and have every single thing wrong unless you come in with a different agenda, and you want to sensationalize something and you want to blow it out of the water.”

Fieri also sent a statement to The Wall Street Journal, which said, “I normally do not respond to reviews or critics, however, given the tone of Pete’s piece, it’s clear to me that he went into my restaurant with his mind already made up. That’s unfortunate.”
