In May 2009, a media writer wondered if Jeff Levine could save the Tribune-owned Hartford Courant. ("He comes armed with corporate media buzzwords like 'platform agnostic' and with a reputation for substantially growing newspaper audiences in Florida.) Levine lost his senior vice president for content job this week.

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his MediaGossip.com, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
