Huffington Post buys Pollster from YouGov/Polimetrix

The purchase is something of a coup for The Huffington Post, writes Jeremy Peters. "It's going to beef up our political coverage," says Arianna Huffington. "Polling, whether we like it or not, is a big part of how we communicate about politics. And with this, we'll be able to do it in a deeper way." || Huffington in 2004: "Polls are polluting our political environment."

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his MediaGossip.com, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
