An embattled local priest, who pled guilty to lewd behavior in a Norfolk park, will be reassigned by the Church. Father Wayne Ball will be moved from Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Norfolk’s Oceanview.

Bishop Walter Sullivan confirmed to WAVY News 10 he is reassigning Father Ball to another parish in the Catholic Diocese of Richmond. The new church is not in the Hampton Roads area. Sullivan said there will be no official comment about this decision until it is formalized next Friday.

The bishop says the decision is in the best interest of the Church, Father Ball, and Holy Trinity.
