'Mad Men' opening scene came from 1966 New York Times article

The scene that opened Sunday's season premiere of "Mad Men," showing three yahoos at Young & Rubicam dropping bags of water on people protesting the Office of Economic Opportunity, came straight from a 1966 New York Times article by John Kifner. It even preserves dialogue Kifner noted as a young reporter. "His story was such that I thought it inviolable,” show creator Matthew Weiner told The New York Times' Michael Wilson. Kifner said he does not remember the story: "I had the poverty beat. It’s so long ago, and so many stories. I can’t remember.”
