NABJ, UNITY set date for talks about reunifying

NABJ and UNITY are scheduled to begin talks on Wednesday, Sept. 14, according to NABJ President Gregory Lee. During its annual convention last month, NABJ announced that it would schedule a talk with UNITY following members' vote to "seek reunification" with the coalition. The presidents of both organizations will attend the meeting in hopes of "starting a conversation on where we go from here," Lee said via email. Last week, the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association was invited to join UNITY, raising questions about how, and whether, this would affect NABJ's efforts to reunite with UNITY. Lee told Journal-isms' Richard Prince last week that it "would be something that would come up" in the talks about reuniting.
