O'Brien named 'PBS NewsHour' science reporter

Miles O'Brien, who was with CNN from 1992 to 2008, will lead the NewsHour Science News Unit, which will produce taped documentary reports and in-studio discussions for "PBS NewsHour." || December 2008: CNN cuts O'Brien and its science, technology and environment news staff.

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his MediaGossip.com, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
