Only 2 of the original Pulitzer Prize categories still remain
While the Pulitzer Prizes might not be the first to recognize industry changes, they have changed over time. They've changed so much since first awarding prizes for journalism in 1917, in fact, that only one category of the prizes awarded that year still remains — editorial writing. (Public service was in with the first group of categories, but it wasn't awarded until the following year.)
