Interior department deputy secretary David J. Hayes protested when “Frontline” took his answer to one question and make it appear as though it was the answer to another question. The show’s editor says “compressing the exchange does not in any way alter the Deputy Secretary’s meaning or intent,” but agrees to re-cut the exchange to restore Hayes’ original answer to the question.
