Two editors made the call to run Cincinnati Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips‘s diatribe uncensored. “We could have — as some broadcasters did — said ‘used a term for a female canine,'” writes Post-Dispatch deputy managing editor/news Steve Parker, “but that doesn’t exactly hit the ear the same way as the words themselves.”
