Reporter-turned-Marine Cahir killed in Afghanistan
U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Bill Cahir has been killed in combat in Afghanistan. He had worked as a Washington, D.C., correspondent for The Express-Times before joining the Marines. "The horror of the murders of 9/11 inspired him to do service to this country, says Express-Times editor Joseph Owens.
