Reston sells Vineyard Gazette to KKR co-founder

The sale to Jerome and Nancy Kohlberg -- he's retired from investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. -- includes $2 million for the newspaper business and $1.5 million for the Gazette's real estate. Richard Reston, son of former New York Times columnist James Reston, has been the paper's publisher since 1988 and is retiring. || Vineyard Gazette's coverage.

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his MediaGossip.com, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
