Toronto Star cancels plan to outsource page production

The Star reached an agreement with its newsroom union that will save the jobs of current page editors. The paper said in November that it intended to cut 70 full-time editing positions and outsource page-production work. || The Star's story.

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his MediaGossip.com, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
