U.S. editor of Financial Times in talks to join Thomson Reuters

It's unclear what role Chrystia Freeland might assume at Thomson Reuters if she's hired. Freeland has overseen the U.S. edition of the FT for more than four years. || UPDATE: MediaGuardian.co.uk reports Freeland has left FT and Gillian Tett has been named her replacement.

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his MediaGossip.com, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
