Utah Senate OKs bill shielding more records from the public

Salt Lake Tribune

The bill's approval came just 72 hours after its text was unveiled, and despite loud protests from the news media. In addition to shielding records, the bill would allow charging more for records that are still available to the public. In a rare front page editorial, the Salt Lake Tribune urged Gov. Gary Herbert to veto the bill and prove "he is a champion of transparency in government."
