Veteran publishers to launch Detroit Daily Press on Nov. 23

Associated Press
Mark and Gary Stern ran dailies in Detroit in 1964 and 1967; New York in 1978; and Minneapolis in 1980 when workers at those cities' major newspapers went on strike. Their Detroit Daily Press will have 60 full-time employees, many with experience at Detroit newspapers. || More from Crain's Detroit Business.

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his MediaGossip.com, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
