Washington Post to start running front page ads

Michael Calderone notes that the Post "has been something of a holdout from the general embrace of front-page newspaper ads." Most major dailies started running page one ads some time ago. (USA Today ran its first in 1999; WSJ in 2006; and NYT <a href="in 2009.)

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his MediaGossip.com, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
