Welcome to the new Poynter.org

After two years of work, plenty of long hours from The Poynter Institute staff and a generous grant from the Knight Foundation, the redesigned Poynter.org launched this morning.

We know what you’re thinking: Another redesign of Poynter.org? Didn’t you overhaul the site last year? Well, yes. But since then, we’ve been working on a parallel rebuild of Poynter.org aimed at bringing all the elements of The Poynter Institute — news, training and events — under the same beautiful roof. Regular users of Poynter.org should notice several important changes:

  • Integration at the article-page level with training from Poynter and News University, Poynter’s industry-leading journalism education platform.
  • A new homepage and revamped site architecture that foregrounds Poynter’s entire portfolio of news, training and events that includes prominent links for our membership and career platform, Media Jobs Connection.
  • A single, unified sign-on for Poynter.org users who want to take courses with News University, join Poynter’s membership and attend events around the world.
  • Newsletter sign-up integration on Poynter.org’s article pages. If you like an article, scroll to the bottom and click to view our entire suite of newsletters.

As always, this redesign is a work-in-progress. We’re still working on several features that we plan to roll out in the coming months as we hear your thoughts and quibbles.

Have questions about the new Poynter.org? News University? We've got you covered. Want to leave us a note with some feedback? Drop us a line here.

With this redesign, we aimed to make Poynter.org a comprehensive home for journalists around the world at every stage in their careers. We hope you like it.
