Woods leaves Poynter to become NPR diversity veep

Keith Woods, who joined Poynter's faculty from the New Orleans Times-Picayune in 1995 and was named Dean in 2005, has specialized in the teaching of diversity and the media's coverage of race relations. Tampabay.com publisher Stephen Buckley will take a 10-week leave from the online service and act as Poynter's interim Dean. || More from Eric Deggans.

  • Jim Romenesko

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his MediaGossip.com, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
