Ashley McBride is an interactive learning producer with the News University team at Poynter and edits The Cohort, a newsletter for women in digital media.
As a producer, Ashley facilitates online learning for journalists, news organizations, educators and students. Previously, she was an interactive learning Finberg Fellow with the NewsU team.
Prior to Poynter and NewsU, Ashley worked as a digital producer and Dow Jones News Fund digital media intern at The Palm Beach Post in West Palm Beach, Florida. She graduated with a master’s degree in Magazine, Newspaper and Online Journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. While in Syracuse, Ashley worked as a staff reporter for The Stand community newspaper where she covered the South Side of the city.
A Tampa native, Ashley completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Miami where she served as managing editor for the award-winning Ibis Yearbook.
