Sara O'Brien specializes in shooting and editing video. Before joining the NewsU team at Poynter, she was the On-Air Marketing Manager for the American Sports Network. She also served as Creative Services Production Manager for WTTA Great 38 for 3 years. She has worked on an array of video projects such as commercials, infomercials, promos, and television shows. She was the video editor for Hidden Warriors: Women of the Ho Chi Minh Trail which was selected for the 9th Annual Women’s International Film Festival in 2008.
O’Brien earned her B.A. in Communications at Worcester State College in Massachusetts. In 2009, she authored St. Petersburg Then & Now, a local history book. She is also the owner of Wide Sky, a t-shirt company in St. Petersburg, Florida. In 2015, Wide Sky was voted Best New Local T-Shirts by Tampa Bay’s Creative Loafing.
