The plaintiffs in a $300-million sexual abuse lawsuit against the Diocese of Brooklyn are expected to get some extra muscle with the addition of a noted West Coast attorney and childrens’ rights advocate to their legal team.
Manhattan attorney Michael Dowd said yesterday he will ask Queens Supreme Court to allow Paul Mones, who has lectured widely on the damaging effects of child abuse, to join the case. Such requests are routinely granted.
“I don’t think there’s a lawyer in the nation who knows more about child abuse than Paul,” said Dowd, who filed the suit in October.
