Nikki Finke says the National Lampoon-produced Hollywood Reporter parody — the “Retorter” makes fun of Hollywood Jews — hardly draws blood. Lampoon editor-in-chief Scott Rubin says he chose the subject because it’s taboo in town. (“Even the L.A. Times, in a news brief, shied away from mentioning the ‘Jewish’ articles,” notes Finke.) Her critique: “The magazine and the company as a whole have to move way past this tired shtick if it’s going to survive.”
