“On the Media” transcript
Chicago-based journalist Carol Marin says the New York Times’ report on her failed “serious” newscast on WBBM-TV was off mark. (The Times said the experiment’s failure perhaps showed that “people need to be drawn in through celebrity gossip and miracle diets introduced by bubbly anchormen and anchorwomen.”) Marin says: “I mean I love the New York Times as a newspaper, but its disdain for television sometimes disturbs me.” (Read other “On the Media” segment transcripts.)
