(15:58) A priest has appeared in court in Belfast accused of indecently assaulting an 18-year-old youth yesterday at a parochial house near North Belfast.
48-year-old Fr Francis McAllister, a curate at St Mary’s on the Hill church at Carnmoney Road in Glengormley, was released on bail on condition that he stays out of the area and does not seek to contact anyone involved in the case.
A PSNI Detective Sergeant said she believed she could connect Fr McAllister to the charge and had no objection to him being remanded on bail.
She confirmed that the Parish Priest in Glengormley had contacted the police after a complaint had been made to him.
