“My motto was always ‘life’s too short’ and it became much more important after 9/11,” says Brian Williams. After watching the MTV Video Awards, his wife mentioned that “we’ve kind of gotten silly again.” Williams agrees. “We’ve gotten into the unimportant stuff again, so quickly after this disaster. I really thought it would change American society longer than it has.”
