TRAVERSE CITY – The pastor of St. Mary’s parish in Hannah has been suspended by the Diocese of Gaylord following his arrest on charges of having sex in a public place.

Wladyslaw Marczynski, pastor of the small rural parish near Kingsley, is facing a misdemeanor charge of disorderly person/obscene conduct. He and a 51-year-old Interlochen man were arrested by state police near dusk on May 14 at a public park along Keystone Road. The two were engaged in a sex act, according to court documents.

Marczynski is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in 86th District Court.

He could not be reached for comment Friday.

The other man, Richard J. Jaquish, was arraigned Friday on a similar charge. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail.
