After laying off art critic Robert Pincus, the San Diego Union-Tribune launched an arts blog and asked for free contributions. Arts prof Katherine Sweetman volunteered, then posted her resignation: “It seems, to me, visual artists should be boycotting the Union Tribune not writing for them — for free!” It was removed Monday morning. || U-T editor Jeff Light‘s response. || Related: Pincus “seems to be doing great” after being laid off.
