The least surprising news of the day? “Why did she tell People magazine and not CBS?” tweets Eric Deggans. || James Poniewozik: “Anchoring The CBS Evening News may have been a temporary step back for Couric between one highly influential TV job (hosting Today) and another (starring in a talk show).”
From Bill Carter‘s New York Times report:

One representative of Ms. Couric said Tuesday that no deal has been agreed to with any network but acknowledged a shift toward ABC, saying, “ABC is a contender.”
