Shea Allen, the Alabama TV reporter fired by WAAY-TV over a confessional blog post, tells HuffPost Live’s Nancy Redd she turned down “Dr. Phil” and got a 60-day severance package.

“I’ve got $148 in my checking account,” she said, noting the station told her it would sue her if she violated her non-compete agreement.

Shea said she was fired summarily: “I thought my performance had warranted at least a conversation,” she told Redd. “I certainly didn’t think it would come to this,” she told Janet Shamlian on “Today.”

Allen’s been frank about her job’s ups and downs on her YouTube channel for some time, Shamlian notes: “I’m actually going to be live for a minute and a half where I talk about the fact that nothing happened,” Allen said in a video she published in February.
