Wendy Ruderman is leaving The New York Times and returning to the Philadelphia Daily News, she tells Poynter in an email. (She announced the move on Facebook Wednesday.)

“My leaving the Times had nothing to do with the Times,” she writes. “I’m really going to miss the Times and the people there. I agonized over the decision.”

The Times hired Ruderman from the Daily News last year to cover cops. She reported on the rape of a 73-year-old woman in Central Park last year.

With Barbara Laker, Ruderman won a 2010 Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting.
