Jones, an award-winning Tampa Bay Times sports columnist, will join Poynter in January.

"poynterThis is a critical and ever-changing time for journalism and I look forward to joining Poynter and covering the media in a way that not only interests journalists, but all of us with a stake in a vibrant press," Jones said. "Poynter has long been a go-to destination for journalism news, trends and discussion and I’m excited about adding my voice and my reporting to questions of media and culture."
