One of the biggest days in American journalism was met with newsroom festivities to match.

Following the presentation of the 103rd Pulitzer Prizes at Columbia University on Monday, winning newsrooms around the country celebrated with champagne, cake and speeches.

The Los Angeles Times staff popped bottles of bubbly after winning the Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting. After The (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) Advocate won the award for local reporting — its first Pulitzer win — staffers embraced in the middle of the newsroom. And there were several all-staff speeches around the country.
