Headlines on newspapers in the U.S. and around the world didn’t flinch the day after a pro-Trump mob stormed the nation’s Capitol causing one death, the evacuation of the Congress and widespread condemnation from both parties. Headlines included “Democracy Attacked,” “Insurrection,” and from two international newspapers, “Anarchy.”
Poynter’s Al Tompkins wrote Wednesday that journalists have an obligation to describe what happened “without fear or favor.”
