Now in its fourth year, the Poynter Leadership Academy for Women in Digital Media is more successful and in-demand than ever. In our last survey, two thirds of participants reported receiving a promotion or raise within the first year. 

To reach more women leaders in journalism, we added two academies in 2018. Our first 2018 cohort came to Poynter in March, the second concluded in June and the third will come in November. This transformative program focuses on the skills and knowledge needed to rise to the highest levels of digital media leadership. Sessions cover how to develop effective management styles, grow business savvy, navigate newsroom and digital culture, master negotiation tactics, build collaborative teams and coach critical thinking.

This program is structured to encourage open, candid discussion and mentoring, and participants will walk away with not only strong leadership skills, but a built-in support system of peers. All women will benefit from one-on-one coaching, analyze feedback from colleagues, and create a personal leadership strategy.
