Have you accidentally shared something online that you found out later wasn’t true?
If that something was small, it can be embarrassing. If it’s big, it can be damaging.
We spend most of our lives tied to technology. We are inundated with information — good and bad — online. And let’s face it. Many of us aren’t sure how to tell what’s true, trustworthy and worth sharing.
MediaWise — a collaboration between Poynter, Stanford and Google — can help you become a smarter consumer of online news and information. Join us at our first MediaWise workshop to:
- Stop the spread of bad information
- Be a force for good
- Earn service hours or brownie points with a teacher
- EAT PIZZA
The Be MediaWise Workshop will take place at The Poynter Institute (across the street from USFSP) on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Admission is free, but you will need to register beforehand to attend.
