New York Observer | Capital New York
Mediagazer founding editor Megan McCarthy — described as “the new doyenne of the media scene” earlier this year — has been named New York Observer news editor. “Megan has a great eye for a story and I look forward to seeing her talents contribute to making an Observer that’s faster and more agile,” says Observer editor Elizabeth Spiers. It was also announced this morning that Wonkette founding editor Ana Marie Cox and phone-hacking scoopster Nick Davies will join The Guardian’s new U.S. website. Joe Pompeo reports: “Davies and Cox join Robert Mackey, whom The Guardian recently poached from The New York Times to be a reporter and blogger for the paper’s U.S. website.”
