Need a good laugh? Well, one recent SND.ies winner had me thinking about JibJab‘s popular political commentaries. Multimedia innovators Don Wittekind and Scott Horner at the Sun-Sentinel worked with sports columnist Steve Svekis to come up with an interesting way to Monday morning quarterback Miami Dolphins games — “Svek’s Instant Replay.”
Animated commentary isn’t new, but the way this team put it together shows how a three-person team can turn something around fast. Most of these pieces were put together between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the Monday after the game. They are clever, funny, and truly entertaining — even if you don’t follow football.
And, although they remind me of JibJab, the creators say they were going for more of a Monty Python kind of humor. All 17 weeks of the season are covered. They are definitely worth a look — even if the Dolphins weren’t.
