In Patrick Schneider‘s original photo, the sky was brownish-gray. He manipulated the image and the sky became a deep red and the sun took on a more distinct halo, says Observer editor Rick Thames. Schneider, who was suspended in 2003 for tweaking colors in photos, has been fired.
