The contest director then promised the checks “will be processed right away.” One winner, the Greensboro News & Record, finally received its prize on Wednesday. “The award itself is a beautiful glass vase,” writes editor John Robinson. “Unfortunately, even though it was bubble-wrapped and surrounded by packing peanuts in a large box, it arrived shattered.”
