Four young journalists win $10,000 Livingston Awards

They are Arkansas Democrat-Gazette's Cathy Frye, 34; Washington Monthly's Nicholas Confessore, 28; Westword's Julie Jargon, 29; and Los Angeles Times' T. Christian Miller, 34. The contest is for journalists under 35. (See the finalists list.)

  • Jim Romenesko

    From 1999 to 2011, Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists. Poynter hired him in August of 1999, after seeing his MediaGossip.com, a hobby site he started in May of 1999.
