Terry Gross says Philadelphia NPR affilate WHYY raised her salary “substantially” after she told bosses she considered herself underpaid compared with other hosts of nationally aired public radio shows. “I’m satisfied” now, she says, declining to reveal her current pay. OTHER NPR STAFFERS’ ’01 SALARIES: “Morning Edition” host Bob Edwards, $229,754; “Weekend Edition Saturday” host Scott Simon, $172,604; and “Marketplace” host David Brancaccio, $153,259.
