Sarah Pettit, a Newsweek senior editor and Out magazine co-founder, died Tuesday after battling lymphoma for the past year. She was 36. “We’ll miss the intellectual honesty and moral passion that Sarah brought to so many of our discussions,” say Newsweek editor Mark Whitaker and executive editor Dorothy Kalins in a staff memo. “She had a voice that made us all better and more thoughtful about what we do.”
